Agent Biography

Scott Lauer is our featured Agent. He was the NBA radio voice of the Charlotte Hornets for 11 years, from 2004 – 2015.  Prior to his NBA position, he spent close to a decade climbing through the play-by-play ranks, primarily calling Minor League Baseball and Basketball. In 1999 he was named the IBA’s “Broadcaster Of The Year.”

Scott had hoped to call NBA or MLB games by his 30th birthday, and if that didn’t happen, he’d reassess his career path. Two days before his 30th, he broadcast his first NBA game – the radio play-by-play of a Hornets/Blazers game at the Rose Garden. “Flying on that team charter cross country to Portland, I had this amazingly euphoric feeling. I still remember looking at the clouds, just shaking my head. I want other broadcasters to experience that sensation, in their own TV News careers.”

The 43 year old has also broadcast for ESPN3, after spending close to a decade in smaller markets.

Lauer founded Winning Broadcasting in 2011.  He’s forged relationships with News Directors and headhunters around the nation as he champions the qualities of his clients.  He also leans on friends in the TV industry to assist his clients in News, Weather, and Sports positions.

“It’s so intrinsically satisfying to have a positive impact on someone’s career.  Sometimes I think that I’m more emotionally attached to a client’s highs and lows than they are!”

Wendy MacNeill brings 30 years of TV industry experience to the Agency, having earned several News Director positions, including one at KTTV, in Los Angeles.  Following her decorated newsroom career as a Producer and in Management, Wendy has transitioned to the Agent side, where she can impart her wisdom about what News Directors look for, and coach up her clients’ on air effectiveness.

If Bob Healey were a baseball player, he would be your ultimate utility player. Bob’s done play by play, been an award winning sports director, news anchor, reporter, and producer during more than 35 years in the television news industry.

Perhaps his most important roles were as news director for both Journal Broadcasting and E.W. Scripps. After a multi-faceted  career in newsrooms across the country, he is bringing his coaching, mentoring and talent development skills to the team at Winning Broadcasting.

By the way, Bob did play professional baseball for the California Angels.   Ask him about it when you talk to him about your career development.
